Re:  Criminal Hearings

 

 

Eleven individuals appeared for arraignments on felony indictments that were issued by the Van Wert County Grand Jury which met late last week.

 

 

Glenn Feathers, 44, Delphos and Kesha Runyan, 36, Delphos both entered not guilty pleas to indictments for an incident that took place in Delphos on November 12th, 2007 in which a young teenage daughter of Runyan suffered a severe arm injury.  Another young female that was present at the Runyan residence allegedly was assaulted also. 

 

Feathers entered not guilty pleas to Felonious Assault a felony of the second degree and one count of Assault a misdemeanor of the first degree.

 

Runyan entered not guilty pleas to one count of Endangering Children a felony of the third degree and one count of Endangering Children a misdemeanor of the first degree.

 

Both were released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bonds with conditions. 

 

A pretrial hearing for both Feathers and Runyan has been scheduled for December 19th, 2007 at 8:00 a.m..

 

 

Adam Showalter, 24, Convoy, Ohio entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Aggravated Possession of Drugs a felony of the third degree.   He was released on a

$5,000 unsecured personal surety bond with a pretrial hearing scheduled for December 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m..

Robert J. Hartman, 18, Van Wert, Ohio entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Breaking and Entering a fifth degree felony.   Hartman was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond with a pretrial hearing scheduled for December 19th, 2007 at 8:00 a.m..

 

Joshua A. Cooper, 26, Van Wert, Ohio entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Possession of Cocaine a felony of the fifth degree.  Cooper was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond with a pretrial conference scheduled for December 19th, 2007 at 8:00 a.m..

 

Donna Fennig, 43, Van Wert, Ohio entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Non-Support of Dependents a fifth degree felony.  Fennig was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond  with a pretrial hearing scheduled for December 19th, 2007 at 8:00 a.m.

 

Rodney Pulfer, 26, Convoy, Ohio entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Domestic Violence a fourth degree felony.  Pulfer was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond with a pretrial conference scheduled for December 19th, 2007 at 8:00 a.m..

 

Michael A. Coombs, 44, Van Wert, Ohio entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Breaking and Entering a fifth degree felony.  Coombs was ordered held on a $2500 cash bond along with a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond.  A pretrial conference has been scheduled for December 19th, 2008 at 8:00 a.m. 

 

Dennis  N. Vickery, 57, Van Wert, Ohio entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Possession of Drugs a fifth degree felony.  Vickery was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond with a pretrial conference scheduled for December 21st, 2007 at 1:00 p.m..

 

Kati Jo Neal, Fort Wayne, Indiana entered not guilty pleas to Identity Fraud and Forgery.  Neal was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond with a pretrial conference scheduled for December 19th, 2007 at 8:00 a.m..

Robert  Thompson, 24, Van Wert, Ohio entered a not guilty plea to a charge of Possession of Drugs a fifth degree felony.  Thompson was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal surety bond with a pretrial conference scheduled for December 21st, 2007 at 1:00 p.m..

 

SENTENCING HEARINGS

 

Michael J. Ditmeyer, 57, Convoy, Ohio was placed on one year of community control on a misdemeanor assault charge.

 

Ditmeyer had been arrested after he allegedly assaulted a young female that was visiting his daughter at his home.

 

Ditmeyer was ordered to serve 90 days in the Van Wert County Jail, perform 200 hours of community service which can be reduced to 100 hours if fully employed, complete a psychological assessment and complete any rehabilitation as required.

Ditmeyere is to have no contact with any female under the age of eighteen. 

 

Judge Steele also gave Ditmeyer a 180 day jail sentence along with a $1,000 fine with the imposition of the jail sentence and fine deferred pending the successful completion of the community control.  

 

 

Chad P. Diltz, 31, Van Wert, Ohio was sentenced to a nine month prison sentence on a charge of Trafficking in Drugs a fifth degree felony.

 

Diltz was arrested after he allegedly sold prescription drugs to an undercover agent working for the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Department in June of this year.

 

Judge Steele told Diltz that it was a time in his life that he needed to get his life together and do something about his drug problem.
