2012 Summer Baseball/Softball
Registration on New Rockford Recreation Website Registration for the 2012 summer youth baseball and softball programs will be held on Saturday, February 25 and Saturday, March 3 from 12:00pm-1:00pm in the Rockford Carnegie Library basement. Registration and medical forms will be distributed to students at school prior to the registration date or can be downloaded and printed by clicking on the links on the new website. Please submit your completed Registration Form, Medical Form, and paid registration fees at one of the registration events, drop off at The Peoples Bank (Rockford), or mail to Rockford Rec. - PO Box 16 - Rockford, OH 45882. Rockford Recreation Association Seeks Tree Donors - Please Order Now The Rockford Recreation Association is conducting a fundraiser to plant trees this fall around the ball fields at Shanes Park. Norway Spruce pine trees, each approximately 3-4 feet tall, will be planted along the east side of diamond #3 outfield fence to improve the look of the park and serve as a windbreak for the ball diamonds. Shade trees will also be planted around the diamonds. Individuals, families and businesses are encouraged to purchase a tree for $75, while the association plans to engrave donors’ names on a plaque to show its appreciation. The Rockford Community Building,
built with donations from the Leota Braun Estate and the labor of many
community volunteers, is managed by the Shanes Park Board, under
president Sandy Schaffner. The building, located at Shanes Park on the
420 Holly Drive entrance, is available for rental for
events and activities.
