VAN METER
Grayson Blye VanMeter was stillborn at Howard Regional Health System on April 4, 2008 at 12:06pm.  He was the son of Debra and Timothy VanMeter of Kokomo, Indiana.
 
Survivors include brothers, Andrew C. VanMeter and Parker Hayes VanMeter; maternal grandparents, Sandra and Francis Schaffner, Rockford, OH; paternal grandparents, Roger and Donna VanMeter, Kokomo, and Linda VanMeter, Indianapolis; aunt, Darien VanMeter, Indianapolis; and uncles, Cary Schaffner, Toledo, OH, and Mike and wife Ayuko Schaffner, Pensacola, FL.
 
Funeral  services will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery in the Chapel of Love.  Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.  Online condolences to the family can be made at www.mem.com

 

 
WILLIAMS

Pat Williams, 68, Rockford, died at 10:38 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, OH.
 

She was born March 7, 1940 in Rockford to the late Leland and Evaline (Van Tilburg) Frysinger.  On August 9, 1959, she married Thomas E. Williams.

 

Pat had worked for Muhlenkamp Accounting, Rockford.  She was a member of Rockford United Methodist Church, a Sunday school teacher, church secretary, and a member of the choir.  She had served on the Rockford town council, was chairperson of the Rockford Christmas walk for many years, founder of Shanes Crossing Historical Society, a member of the Rockford Fire Dept. Auxiliary and the Rockford Ladies In Red-Red Hat Society.


Surviving along with her husband Tom, is one son, Todd (Jill) Williams, Rockford and one daughter, Darla (Marvin) Hammitt, Rockford, one grandchild, Amy Williams and one sister, Vivian Beckstedt, Celina.


Deceased is one brother, Leland Frysinger and one sister, Ilo DeBolt


Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Rockford United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Berne officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.


Viewing will be Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 2-8 p.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Association of Mercer County.

BLACK

Merle D. Black, 70, 431 E. Fulton St., Celina, died at 1:40 PM, Friday, April 4, 2008 at Mercer Health Hospital in Coldwater.  He was born June 13, 1937 in Poe, Indiana to George and Wilma (Thompson) Black. In January 1970, he married Janice Davis, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons: Mike (Rosanna) Greenville, PA and Chuck (Kristine) of Rockford; one daughter, Kristine (Mike) Durnell of Celina; one stepson, Brett (Michelle) Riley of Celina; a sister, Patricia (Gerald) Hoblet of Decatur, IN, and two sisters-in-law, Ellen of Rockford and Gloria of Willshire, and 10 grandchildren.

 

Deceased are two brothers, Don and Ray, and a sister, Eileen Fleming.

 

He was a retired tool and die maker for the former Huffy plant in Celina and the Chrysler Corporation in Van Wert. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Celina and Rockford, The loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Celina and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Celina. He was a 1955 graduate of Willshire High School.

 

Services are 1 pm Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Reverend James Richter officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens.

 

Calling is 11 AM to 1 PM Tuesday, April 8 at the funeral home.
