Marie  Duerr  Eichenauer,  age 88,  of Celina, passed away Friday, August 12, 2011 at Celina Manor Nursing Home.

 

Born in Adrian, Michigan on September 13, 1922 to Kenneth & Eva Leonard Sheldon.

 

In 1940, she married Elwin H. Duerr Sr., who died in 1978. She later married Russell K. Eichenauer, who died in 1995.

 

Surviving are: two sons: Elwin "Butch" Duerr Jr. of Coldwater and Tim Duerr of Indianapolis, 

three daughters: Shirley (Richard) Sibert of Celina, Linda (Roger) LaRue of Ft. Wayne and Kellie (Kurt) Hoelscher of Celina, 

a sister: Eunice Williams of Montpelier,  11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren, 

one step-son: Eldon (Ruthann) Eichenauer of Celina and a step-daughter: Reitta Bransteter of Rockford.  

 

Preceding her in death were: four siblings: Leonard Sheldon, Erma Baily, Raymond Sheldon and Beatrice Estes, a daughter-in-law: Sharon Duerr and a step son-in-law: Kenneth Bransteter.

 

Marie and Elwin owned Duerr's Sewing Center in downtown Celina for many years.  She retired in 1994.   Sewing was also a hobby, and she loved giving lessons to others and enjoyed doing word search puzzles. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina.

 

Friends may call from 4 - 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 16 and 10 - 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 17 at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina. Services are 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home.  

Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
