SHROCK Steven H. Shrock Sr., 71, of Mendon, died at 8:30 a.m. August 19, 2011, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 13, 1940, in Elwood, Ind., to John and Claudine Garner Shrock. On Feb. 15, 1958, he married Karen Smith, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Steven Jr. (Tami) of Versailles, Dave (Shelley) of Celina, and Scott of Mendon; one brother, John Joseph (Sharon) Shrock of Newport, N.C.; and three grandchildren. Shrock, who retired from the former Avco New Idea plant in Coldwater, and his wife were involved in breeding and raising Labrador retrievers. They owned Justlabslabradors for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Lord's Church in Celina. Graveside rites are noon Tuesday at Mercer Memory Gardens near Celina, Pastor Randy Christian officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys, has charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lord's Church.
WILLRATH Karl A. Willrath, 33, Bradford, died the morning of August19, 2011, at his residence, the victim of a suspected suicide. He was born July 22, 1978, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Wayne E. and Marsha A. Colson Willrath, who survive in Celina. Also surviving are aunts and uncles, Gordon (Darcy) Colson, New Braunfels, Texas, Alan (Rose) Colson, Fort Pierce, Fla., Randy (Jan) Colson, St. Marys, Diana (John) Chaffee, Salinas, Calif., Sheri (John) Heeb, Celina, and Robin (Mark) Gilstrap, Celina. Deceased are grandparents, Edwin and Crystal Willrath and Donald and Mary Colson. He was a diesel mechanic at Dayton Freight in Huber Heights and had worked at Pizza Hut in Celina during high school. He was a 1996 graduate of Celina High School and attended Hobart School of Welding in Troy. He attended Grace Missionary Church in Celina. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick & Sons Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina. Burial is at Buck Cemetery, Celina. Friends and family may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
