HARNER AND THOMAS
Mr. Harner was a lifelong farmer, a former Center Township clerk and trustee and served on the Center Township school board. He attended Mt. Zion Methodist Church and was a 1933 graduate of Neptune High School.
Surviving are two daughters, June (Glen) Florence, Coldwater, OH and Kathy (Laverne) Wendel, Celina; one stepson, Eugene (Pat) Dickey of Mendon; one stepdaughter, Rosemary (Bob) Blessinger, Garrett, Indiana; two brothers, Glen (Kate) Harner, Mendon, and Herbert, Celina; 10 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother Oreal; and two sisters, Dolores Buxton and Dorothy Manier; and one great-grandchild. . Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, December 31, 2007 at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina with Reverend Randy Christian officiating. Burial will be in Northgrove Cemetery, Celina. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday 2 - 8 p.m. |

THOMAS Doyt Dean Thomas, 82, of St. Marys, died at 12:05 AM on Thursday, December 27, 2007 at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. He was born near Elgin, Ohio on February 20, 1925 to Howard and Ruth (Boroff) Thomas. He was married to the late Evelyn Wade and later to the late Ann Bowersock. Surviving are a companion Kay Faurot, Kenton; two sons, Frank (Debra Neargarder) and David (Jodi) all of St. Marys; a step-son, Terry (rosemary) McElroy, St. Marys, Ohio; a step-daughter, Kathy (James) Lininger of Neptune; three brothers, Carl, Rockford, Ross of Glynnwood and Dale, Wapakoneta; one sister, Ruth May Hubbard, LaFayette, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Deceased are two brothers Glenn and John Thomas; and a sister, Edith Harner. He was a retiree of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in St. Marys. He was a U. S. Naval veteran from World War II. He played semi-pro football in the 1940's. He belonged to these St. Marys organizations: Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 9289; American Legion Post 323; Disabled American Veterans Post 119; and the Eagles Lodge 767. He belonged to the Kenton AmVets and the Lima Moose. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, December 31, 2007 at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys with Reverend James Nuhfer officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday 5 - 8 PM. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Society of Auglaize County. |
