HOBLET

 

Vera Fern Hoblet, 94, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 at Home Sweet Home Care Center, Michigan.


She was born January 28, 1914 in Blackcreek Township to William and Maude (Purdy) Lee.  She married Norman Hoblet on August 6, 1934 and he preceded her in death on March 7, 1982.  She was a homemaker and had worked at the corner restaurant in Willshire.


Surviving is a sister-in-law, Janette Lee, Celina and several nieces and nephews.


Deceased are two brothers; Carl S. and William Earl Lee and two sisters; Nora Proffitt and Cleo M. Applegate; one sister-in-law Eileen Dellinger.


Funeral services will be Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford with Pastor Mike Berne officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.


Viewing will be one hour prior to the service.  Memorials may be directed to Visiting Nurses Service of Michigan.

McMURRAY

Steven A. McMurray, 46, Portland Indiana died at 9:20 PM on Monday, February 25, 2008 at his home, apparently due to a heart attack.

He was born on march 3, 1961 in Mercer County to Marvin K. and Geraldine Margaret (Thomas) McMurray, who are both deceased.

Surviving are companion Connie Truex of Portland; two sons, Ben R. of Alpharetta, Georgia and Jeremy D. of Celina, three daughters, Kayla J and Katrina R, both of Miami , Florida, and Sarah R. of St. Marys; a brother, Terry of Phoenix, Arizona, and one sister, Kathy McMurray of Phoenix, Arizona., and eight grandchildren.

Deceased are a daughter, Stephanie and a sister, Susan.

He was self-employed as a contractor and formerly belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Geneva.

He was once a student at Parkway Schools.

Services are at 6 PM on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Williamson-Spencer Funeral Home in Portland with Reverend Jim Huey officiating.
