EMERSON
 

Dorothy A. Emerson, 92, 611 W. Market St., Rockford passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 6:20 AM at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.
 

She was born October 17, 1915 in Convoy, Ohio to Herbert and Elizabeth (Boon) Dawson.  On March 13, 1937, she married Clarence Emerson, and he passed away in 1969.

Surviving are five daughters, Gloria (Fred) Vann, Mary Lou Lehman, Helen King, Suzanne (Art) Christie, and Betty (Larry) Houser, all of Rockford; one sister Geneva Plymate of Illinois; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son William Kelly Emerson; one sister Ivy Wagner; five brothers, Donald, Arthur, Bill and Maurice Dawson and Fred Armes; one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Emerson was employed for several years at Tu-Way Products in Rockford.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 29, 2008 at 11 AM at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, with Reverend Robert Loar officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Calling will be Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 2-8 P.M. at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina and one hour prior to the service on Friday.  Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
