FRECK
 

Elizabeth L. Freck, 95, Convoy passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 8 AM at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
 

She was born August 25, 1912 in Van Wert County to Harle G and Jessie (Stuckey) Freck. 

Surviving are one brother-in-law, Carl Kimmel of Rockford, and one sister-in-law, Ann Freck of Decatur, Georgia; four nephews: Gary (Sharon) Kimmel of Celina, Don (Carolyn) Freck Carrollton, Georgia,  Gene "Frosty" Freck of Decatur, Georgia,  Allen Freck of Decatur, Georgia,  and one niece: Cathy (Arthur) Mirtes, Huron, Ohio.
 

She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Freck and a sister, Eleanor Kimmel.
 

She was a retired guidance counselor & teacher at Elkart Jr. High School, in Elkart, IN for more then 40 years, Elizabeth had lived in the same location all her life and enjoyed reminiscing of those 95 years with family and friends. She dedicated over 40 years to education, retiring in 1974, returning to Convoy to care for her family. Her continued support of education is complemented by funding a Crestview Senior Scholarship Award.

She had been very active in many organizations including the Convoy Research Club, Church Women United, Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Organization and Eastern Star. She was a member of the Convoy United Methodist Church, Convoy United Methodist Women, Come Join Us Church School Class.
A graduate of Convoy-Union High School, she was also a 1934 graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and obtained her Masters degree at the University of Wisconsin.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Convoy United Methodist Church, Convoy with Rev. Gregory Leigh officiating.  Burial will follow at I.O.O.F Cemetery, Convoy.

Calling will be 9:00 a.m. to the time of services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
