ALTENBACH

Mike Altenbach,  58,  passed away on February 3, 2008 at his residence in Mendon of Pancreatic Cancer surrounded by his family.  Mike fought his disease with courage, humor and grace for over a year.

 

He was born April 25, 1949 to Dorothy ( Funni ) Altenbach of Lima  and  the late Edwin Altenbach. On February 3, 1973 he married Connie ( Williams ) Altenbach who survives in Mendon.

 

He retired in December 2006 from Common Cents Mortgage in Celina.  He was co-owner of Auto World Inc. of Celina for 12 years.  He also worked 15 years at The Budd Co. of Van Wert.

 

He is survived by 3 Sons:  Scott ( Sherrie ) Altenbach  &  Adam Heck of Mendon  and Matthew Altenbach of Chester, Virginia.  He also has 1 Grandson:  Alexander Altenbach and 1 Granddaughter:  Kameryn Altenbach,  both of Mendon.

 

He is also survived by  3  Sisters:  Sandy Altenbach  of Lebanon, Virginia  and  Nancy ( Larry ) Wagner  &  Patty ( Fred ) Zupka of Lima  and  2  Brothers:  John ( Deb ) Altenbach  & Paul ( Cathy ) Altenbach of Lima.

      

        He was preceded in death by his father Edwin Altenbach.

 

Viewing will be at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Mendon  from 2-5 & 6-8  P.M., Weds., Feb. 6  and  also from  9:45 -10:45 A.M.  at the Funeral Home  on Thursday  prior to services at the church.

 

       Services will be 11:00 A.M.,  Thurs., Feb. 7  at  United Methodist Church of Mendon with Pastor Chuck Eagle officiating. Burial will be at Mendon Cemetery.

 

Memorial Donation can be made to Cancer Association of Mercer County, Celina Area Visiting Nurses & Hospice  or  Mendon Fire Department.

Roy A. Line, 75, of Mendon, died Sunday, February 3, 2008, at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.

  
He was born May 1, 1932, in Auglaize County to the late Dale and Opal (Chiles) Line.  On June 24, 1956, he married Doris Ann (Brown) Line, and she survives.

  
Mr. Line had worked at the former Elgin Grain Co., a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion Post #508.

  
Surviving along with his wife are two sons; Dennis (Mindy) Line and Doyle (Lisa) Line of Van Wert, OH; three grandchildren, Tia, Alexis, and Bradley Line; and one sister, Maxine Wright, St. Marys, OH.

  
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford with Rev. Dean Bruce officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

  
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 from 2-8 P.M. and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.  Memorials maybe directed to the Ohio Parkinson Foundation.
