GRASCIA
Anthony Rocco Grascia, 75, of Rockford, formerly of Hastings-On-Hudson and Yonkers, New York, died on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford, from complications related to a long time illness. He was born December 3, 1932 in Hobbs Ferry, New York to the late Pasquale and Angela (Battista) Grascia. He was an accountant for the New York Daily News in Manhattan, New York for many years.
He had resided in the Rockford area the past 3 years, coming from New York. He attended church at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chattanooga, Ohio, and was a member of St. Mathews Catholic Church in Hastings. He was a life-long member of the Hastings Volunteer Fire Departments, Hook & Ladder Co. #1 and Exempt Firefighters Association. He was also a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving is one son and his wife, Tim and Megan (Kimmel) Fokine of Rockford, and one brother, Ernest & Madeline Grascia of Hastings-On-Hudson, New York. In addition, there are 5 grandchildren and 5 nephews surviving.
Services will be held at 10:00 am at St. Mathews Catholic Church in Hastings on Friday, January 18. Friends may call at the Hastings Funeral Home, on Wednesday from 7-9 pm and on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Condolences may be sent at ketchamripleyfh@embarqmail.com |
