BIGELOW
Richard D. "Dick" Bigelow, 72, of Celina, died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at his home. He was born November 11, 1938 in St. Marys to the late Elwood and Gustie (Barnes) Bigelow. On March 15, 1990, he married Willa (Ryan) Bigelow, and she survived. He had worked at Reynolds and Reynolds in Celina and was a veteran of the US Army.
Also surviving are four children: Johnathon (Rachel) Bigelow, Teri (Randy) Mullins, Charles (Donna) Bailey and Kimberly Bailey all of Celina; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, and two brothers: Darrel "Jerry" Bigelow of Rockford and Rex (Jan) Bigelow of Troy. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dave Bigelow. Funeral services were August 2, 2011 at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina with Pastor Mark Rutledge officiating.
YANEY Rose
Mary Abels Yaney, 82, passed away at her residence in Celina on July 31,
2011.
She was born in Mercer
County on March 27, 1929, the daughter of the late Oscar & Marie
(Braun) Birkmeyer. She married Wilfred "Bill" Abels, and he preceded
her in death in 1955.
Survivors include
two sons, Jerry
Abels of Denver, CO and Tom (Lynn) Abels of Rockford; two
daughters, Tina
(Steve) Temple of Celina and Mary Abels of Lima; three
brothers, Max
(Eleanor) Birkmeyer of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Louis (Patricia) Birkmeyer
of Denver, CO and Charlie (Jan) Grieshop of Mendon; one sister,
Margaret Swartz of Minster; seven grandchildren; fourteen great
grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard &
Wilma Abels; one granddaughter; Destiny Longenecker and her
step-father, Ed Grieshop.
She was a member of the
Coldwater High School Class of 1948 and Immaculate Conception Church
in Celina.
A Homemaker, she had also
worked at many area restaurants over the years, including Arnie's
Corner in Montezuma, Meinerding's
in Ft. Recovery, Coldwater
Creek Landing on Grand Lake, and John's
Bar, Bettie's & Kremer's in Coldwater.
A Funeral Mass will be held
10:30 A.M. Friday, August 5 at Immaculate Conception Church in
Celina. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coldwater.
Calling Hours are 2 - 4 &
6 - 8 P.M., Thursday, August 4 and 9:15 - 10:15 A.M. on Friday,
August 5 at W.H. Dick & Sons - Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
