Steven D. Henkle, 62, Rockford, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert, OH, following a semi-truck accident.

He was born September 12, 1945, in Van Wert County, OH to Thorsen and Helen (Burris) Henkle, Rockford, who survive along with his wife, Kathy (Eshleman) Henkle, whom he married  on November 17, 1973.

Steve was from the Rockford area all his life and was a self employed truck driver and a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church, Rockford.

Surviving along with his parents and wife are two sons, Steven (Sherry) Henkle II and Brady (Kris) Henkle, Rockford; two daughters, Lori (Scott) Schoenleben, Rockford and Sherri Henkle, St. Marys, OH; one brother, Michael (Linda) Henkle, Rockford, OH and two sisters, Connie Marbaugh, Willshire, OH and Linda Hart, Columbus, OH.; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  Deceased is one grandchild and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at Rockford United Methodist Church with Pastor Mike Berne officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.  Friends may call at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford on Tuesday, June 17,2008 from 1-8:00 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
