CRON

Pauline M. Cron, age 86, of Celina, passed away Wednesday, 

June 27, 2018, at Mercy Health - St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

 

She was born February 18, 1932 in Mercer County, the daughter 

of Valentine & Elizabeth ( Wendel ) Linn.  Her Parents and Brother, 

Lester Linn, preceded her in death.

 

Pauline and Cletus H. Cron were married on August 18, 1954, and he 

survives, along with their three Children: Tim Cron of Saint Sebastian, 

and Tony Cron and Pam Cron, both of Coldwater, Grandchildren: 

Haley Feltz and Mitchell Cron, Great Grandsons: Gabriel and 

Alexander Feltz, and Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Erma Klosterman, 

Rosie Fleck, John Cron and George ( Janet ) Cron.

 

A graduate of Rockford High School, Pauline was a homemaker, 

and had worked at Mersman Furniture and McKirnan Brothers 

in Celina.  She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church 

in Celina, and its Altar Rosary Society.

 

Pauline was an avid reader, and enjoyed walking, and traveling on 

bus trips.  She was very fond of cats, and she loved taking care of 

the strays that appeared at her home. She particularly enjoyed 

spending time with her Grandchildren and Great Grandsons.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church 

in Celina, at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 2, with Fr. Vince Wirtner C.PP.S., 

presiding.  Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery in Celina.

 

Calling Hours are at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, 

from 2:00 - 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 1, and 9:30 - 10:15 A.M. on Monday.

 

Memorial Contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church 

or the IC Education Endowment Fund.

WANNER

John A. Wanner, 68, of Rockford, formerly of Columbus, Ohio, died Thursday, June 27, 2018, at 3:50 p.m., at the Laurels of Shane Hill where he had been a patient.  He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on June 27, 1950, the son of John and Mary Catherine (Breen) Wanner, both who have preceded in death.  After high school, John received a B.A. in Psychology and a Masters in Theology.  He was a member of the Society of Precious Blood. 

 

Surviving are two sons:  Timothy Wanner, Illinois, and Matthew (Kristina) Wanner, of Monee, Illinois.  Also surviving are 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and 3 grandchildren.

 

John will be cremated and then taken to Illinois for a private family service.

CORY

Jerold. S. Cory, age 87, of Delaware died Wednesday June 27, 2018 in Grady Memorial Hospital. He was born June 21, 1931 in Jackson, OH. to the late Ray and Alice (Scott) Cory.

Jerry grew up in Bloomingburg, OH. and graduated in 1949 and then farmed for two years. In 1952 he joined the U.S. Army serving in Hawaii, Japan and on the battle line in Korea. Jerry graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University majoring in education and social studies and also received his Masters Degree from Wittenberg University in Education Administration. Jerry taught high school at Parkway School in Rockford, Oh. and then became the High School Principal. He then took a job as Assistant Principal at Willis Middle School.
Jerry loved people, especially his students and enjoyed talking to and laughing with them. He had a wide range of interests, including history, sociology and growing flowers. Jerry was blessed with a beautiful bass voice and enjoyed singing in the church choir and quartets. He was a life long member of the Presbyterian church where he served as an Elder.

On Sept. 5, 1954, Jerry married the former Elizabeth L. Iden and she survives in Delaware. Also surviving are his daughter, Janice (Jeffrey) Adams of Orlando, FL., and son, Alan Cory of Radnor; grandchildren, Arryn McFarland and Ryan Adams; great-grandchildren, Aylah and Rowans McFarland; brothers, Dean (Phyllis) Cory of Bloomingburg, Oliver Iden of Bloomingburg and George Iden of Bethesda, MD.

Friends may call Sunday July 1, 2018 from 2:00 -5:00 PM at the Robinson Funeral Home, 32 West Winter Street in Delaware.

Jerry’s funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Patricia Stout.

A graveside service with military honors will be held in the Bloomingburg Cemetery on Monday at 1:00PM. A time of fellowship will follow in the Bloomingburg Presbyterian Church.
