GEORGE

Christine E. George, 57, of Houston, Texas, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, in Houston with death being due to natural causes. 

 

She was born in Celina to the late Clifford Steele and Virginia (Gibbons) Rumple, Celina, on September 29, 1950.  Her step-father, LaDoyt Rumple is also deceased. Her husband, Michael B. George, survives.

 

Surviving as well are 1 brother, Randy Steele of Celina, Ohio; one step-brother, Randy (Ruth) Rumple and one step sister Janet (Mike) Riley all of Rockford.

 

Christine had worked for Elder-Beerman Department Stores in Dayton, and later taught in the Findlay City School system and the Langham Creek High School in Houston, Texas. She was a member of the following organizations in Houston: Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community; Woods of Wimbledon Ladies Bridge Club; Houston Symphony Legacy Society; Houston Grand  Opera Guild; Grand Opera Laureate Society; University of Houston Moore's Society; Rice University's Shepherd Society; and the Leo Meyer Society at the University of Dayton. She was a graduate of Parkway High School and Wright State University, Dayton.

 

Funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 10:30 am at Immaculate conception Catholic Church in Celina, with Reverend  Tom Brenberger officiating.  Burial will be at North Grove Cemetery, Celina.  Mass was also celebrated April 1, 2008 at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Community in Houston.

 

 

Friends may call on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the church after 9:30 AM (one hour prior to the service). 

 

Memorials may be directed to Celina Immaculate Conception Church, or the Michael B. & Christine E. George Scholarship Fund at the University of Dayton.
