He was a graduate of Coldwater High School and a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. On July 4, 1978, he married Rose Beougher, and she survives in Mendon. Clyde was a conductor on the Norfolk-Southern Railroad, retiring from there in 2010, and lived most of his life in the area.
Clyde loved to ride motorcycles and restore old cars. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his family and friends until he was no longer able to do so. He loved his wife and children, and his five grandchildren, who he enjoyed spending time with.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be directed to the Van Wert Community Health Professionals’ In-Patient Hospice in Van Wert, Ohio, or to the Cancer Association of Mercer County, in Celina, Ohio.
