MEYER

Joseph James "Jim" Meyer, 80, of Eastmoor Court, New Bremen, OH, died at 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, Ohio.

He was born April 2, 1927, in Cincinnati to Joseph James "Joe" and Virginia (Craig) Meyer.  On July 3, 1947, he married Marcia Jean Bricker, who died November 2, 2002.

Survivors are three sons: C. Joseph (Pat), J. Craig (Sandy) and Steven Andrew, all of New Bremen; two daughters, Deborah (Byron) Lunz, Beaverton, Oregon, and Laura (Ronald) Sylvester, New Bremen; a sister, Virginia Wood, Celina; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
 

He was an accountant in New Bremen for many years and a member of the American Legion, New Bremen, the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club, the New Bremen Historic Association and Only Believe Ministries, Botkins. He served in the U.S. Marines in World War II in the South Pacific.

Services are Monday, March 31, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, with Reverend Ed Ingram officiating. Burial will be at the German Protestant Cemetery in New Bremen.

Calling hours are Sunday, March 30, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
