Dennis
R. Baker (Bob), 61, Chattanooga, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at Van Wert
County Hospital, Van Wert, OH.
He was born June 30, 1946 in Mercer County, OH to Ernest and Inez
(Miller) Baker. His mother survives in Celina. He married Barbara Kline
on February 15, 1969 and she survives.
Bob worked at Mercer Landmark and had farmed all his life. He had
worked at Micro-Precision/Textron, Berne for 39 years. He was a life
time member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Rockford and had been
a deacon, elder and youth director. He was a member of the Willshire
Sportsman Club and had been a trustee of Liberty Township Zoning
Committee.
Surviving along with his mother and wife is one son, Brian Baker,
Rockford, and two daughters; Beth (Dennis) Seip of Decatur and Betsy
(Patrick) Johnson of Willshire; one brother, Gene Baker, Rockford and
two sisters, Sharon (Jerry) Boise, Montpelier, IN and Nancy Bates,
Celina; six grandchildren, Nick and Spencer Seip, McKenna, Macy, Bodie,
and Parker Johnson and one great grandchild Halle Seip
Deceased is his father, Ernest (Curly) Baker, and two brothers-in-law,
Glen (Chewy) Boise and Don Bates.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ,
1538 Oregon Road, Rockford, OH on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
with Pastor Catherine Costello officiating. Burial will follow in
church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church.
Viewing will be at the church on Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 2-8 p.m.
and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
