McELROY
Robert  Eugene   “Bob”   McElroy, 84, of 205 W. Andrews St., Monroe, Indiana and formerly of Celina and Willshire, died at 4:15 P.M. on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Ball Memorial Hospital, in Muncie, Indiana.

He was born January 7, 1924, in Mercer County to Ralph E. McElroy Sr. and Mary (Rupert) McElroy. He married Marjorie “Marge” ( Walser ) in Van Wert on June 1, 1947, and she survives.

Other survivors are three sons Ralph W. ( Patty ) McElroy, Wapakoneta, OH, Robert E. ( Macaria ) McElroy, San Diego, CA and Robert E. (Macaria) McElroyof San Diego, CA; four daughters Deborah K. McElroy, Houston, TX, Delores A. ( Mark )  Hart Portland, IN, Cynthia J. ( Jerry )  Morris Kilmarnock, VA, and Bonnie L. ( Steve )  Baker, Rockford, OH; one brother Edgar ( & Esther ) McElroy Bedford, IN; and three sisters, Betty Bowersock St. Marys, OH, Mary Lou ( & Melvin ) Schumann, Botkins, OH and Jerrilyn Temple, Celina; 23 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were five  brothers:  William E.,  Henry,  Leo,  Ralph E. Jr.  and  Walter Lee McElroy and one sister:  Patricia Swineford.

He worked as a Telephone Installer for the Harris - McBurney Co. of Jackson, MI and retired in 1986. He attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Middlepoint, Ohio.

U.S. Army Veteran of He served in the U.S. Army during WWII (May 1943 to January 1946) in New Guinea and the Phillippines.  He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a Life Member of Celina VFW Post #5713.  He graduated from Celina High School in 1943

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31 at W. H. Dick and sons - Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina. Reverend Randall Swanson will officiate. Burial is at the North Grove Cemetery, Celina

Calling is 4 - 8 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2008 at the funeral home.
