STANSBERRY

Richard L. Stansberry, age 72, of rural Mendon, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at his residence.

He was born February 12, 1946 in Appaloosa County, Iowa, to Gary & Norma Stansberry.  His parents, and eleven brothers & sisters, all preceded him in death. 

Richard was a widower, and is survived by a daughter, Theresa Maas, and three granddaughters.

Also surviving is his friend and neighbor, Linda Krogman, who along with her late husband, Larry, looked after and cared for Richard for many years. 

Richard had worked as a truck driver for Alsap Logging Company.

He was a member of the Mendon United Methodist Church. 

Richard loved the outdoors.  He liked mowing and taking walks.He could identify many types of trees and their uses.  Richard enjoyed going into Mendon every morning to have coffee uptown at the Pirate's Cove.

Calling Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon on Monday, May 14, at Mendon United Methodist Church, with the Funeral Service to follow at Noon.  Pastor Rob Glenn will officiate.

Burial will take place on a later date at Mendon Cemetery.
