ENGLE

Orville M. Engle, 83, of 6190 Shelley Rd., Mendon, Ohio, died at 11:36 A.M., Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima.  He was born July 4, 1924, in Lima, Ohio, to Jesse and Hattie ( Dupler ) Engle. 
He married Catherine "Midge" Nolan on August 8, 1942,  and she died Nov. 4, 1987.

Mr. Engle was a lifelong farmer in Union Township and had retired as a finish carpenter at Kitchen’s Inc. in Van Wert. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and had served with the Army Corps of Engineers in Europe and the South Pacific.  He attended Lima Central High School, and in later years received a diploma from Lima Central High School in honor of his service as a veteran.

Surviving are three sons:  Michael ( & Jane ) Engle of Wapakoneta, Danny ( & Jenis ) Engle of Cridersville and Patrick ( & Betty ) Engle of Mendon; one son-in-law Jack Roetgerman of Minster; 12  grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and  several step-great grandchildren.
 

Deceased are a daughter Kristina  Roetgerman who died June 29, 2007  and 3 brothers,  Walter, Oren  and  Brice Engle.

Services will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 2:00 pm at W.H. Dick & Sons - Hellwarth Funeral Home, MENDON, with Pastor Dan Holbrook officiating.   Burial will follow in Tomlinson Cemetery, near Mendon

with Graveside Military Rites by Spencerville V.F.W. Post #6772.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, Nov. 27 at  W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, MENDON and from 1 - 2 P.M.  prior to services on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at the Funeral Home.   Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
