James P. Agler, 69, Van Wert, Ohio, went to be with his Lord & Savior at 3:47 a.m., Sunday, October 2, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center Lima, Ohio

He was born August 15, 1942 in Ohio City, Ohio to the late Lloyd E. and Ethel L. (Miller) Agler.

He married Mary J. (Murphy) on October 24, 1964 at Trinity Friends Church and she survives.

Also surviving are one son: Eric Agler of Hamilton, Ohio, and two daughters: Pauletta (Ron) Hohlbein Delphos, Ohio and Allison (Eric) Hammond Van Wert, Ohio; two brothers: Ronald E. (Vera) Agler Van Wert and Marvin Lee (Belle) Agler of  Ohio City, Ohio; four sisters: Loma L. Miller Chinock, Montana, Joyce L. (Raymond) Eller Rockford, Ohio, Shirley K. (Irvin) Crider Elida, Ohio and Kathleen F. Funk Colorado: 8 grandchildren: Trey, Nathan, Seth, Ryan, & Logan Agler, Alyssa & Danielle Hohlbein, Markie Agler, Nick & E.J. Hammond and two Great Grandchildren: Braddex Agler & Gavin Hammond

Deceased are one brothers: Ned E. Agler;  two sisters Jeanette McAfee & Carolyn J. Felver.

Mr. Aglerr retired in 1996 from Chrysler-Amplex in Perrysburg, Ohio.

He was a lifetime member of Trinity Friends Church; Van Wert and a 1960 graduate of Ohio City Liberty High School. He was involved in the Friends Disaster Service and  building homes. James was a  Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, as well.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2011at Trinity Friends Church, Van Wert, Ohio with Pastor Steve Savage Trinity Friends Church officiating. He will be buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio

Calling will be from 2-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Cowan & Son Funeral Home and 1 hour ahead of the services at the church on Wednesday

Preferred memorials are to  Trinity Friends Church
