TEMPLE

Ned Temple, age 76, of Celina, passed away October 29, 2011 at the Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.

 

He was born on August 15, 1935 in Rockford, the son of the late Lowell & Helen (Cook) Temple.

 

He married Janice Kolp on December 29, 1956 and she survives, along with four children, Valerie (Chris) Anspaugh of Plain City, Tom (Shelly) Temple of Vandalia, Sheila (Jim) Hawkins Jr. of Celina and Scott Temple of Dayton; eight grandchildren: Nathan (Fumiko) Anspaugh, Andrew & Lindsay Anspaugh, Sarah (Mike) Cox, Brianna & Alex Hawkins,  Mindy (Wayne) Penn II, Brett (Candace) Albertini and three great grandchildren: Ned & Olin Cox and Wayne Penn III.

A brother and his wife: Jim & Barb Temple, are deceased.

 

Ned worked several years as a self-employed plasterer in the construction industry, then as an industrial tool salesman for the ELCO Tool Co. of Ft. Wayne, until his retirement.

 

A 1953 graduate of Rockford High School, he served two years in the U.S. Army with the 101st Airborne Division.  He was a member of the Society for Manufacturing Engineers and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. 

 

Ned's first and foremost priority was his family.  He was always willing and available to lend a hand with any project.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:30 AM, Wednesday, November 2 at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, with Services starting at 11:30.  Fr. Kenneth Alt will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

 

Memorial Contributions may be made to:   The Immaculate Conception Endowment Fund, The Society for Crippled Children & Adults, or to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
