Kristi Burch of Rockford and Eddie and Linda Burch of Grove City, announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Brandi Burch, to Justin Williams, son of Scott and Brenda Williams, Rockford.

The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Celina High School and attended The Ohio State University, majoring in biology. She currently works at First Solar in Perrysburg, OH.

The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of Parkway High School and graduated from the University of Toledo in 2004, majoring in Chemical Engineering.  He currently works for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

Moore/Whitaker Wedding Approaches

Edward and Linda Moore of Anna announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Carolyn, to Bryon Whitaker, son of Brent and Sharon Whitaker, Willshire.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, earning a bachelor degree and the received her master's degree in education. She currently teaches English at New Knoxville High School

The prospective groom is a graduate of Parkway High School and graduated from the University of Toledo in 2002, with a bachelor of science degree.  He currently works for Ft. Amanda specialties in Lima as a chemist.

Varner/Thompson Exchange Vows in June
Lindsey Varner and Tyler Thompson were united in marriage June 21, 2008, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Marion, Ohio.
The bride is the daughter of Rick and Debbie Varner of Prospect, and the groom is the son of Alan and Kay Brandt and the late Roy Thompson III of Rockford. Anna Huffman, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor.  Bridesmaids were Brittany Hilgenberg, Kelly Bregar, Jesse Mathey, and Jenni Brown.  Jr. Bridesmaid was Hayley McWilliams.  Flower girls were Kasey and Kelley Varner.  Ryan and Jordan Thompson served their brother as best men.  Groomsmen and ushers included Trey Stover, Galen Schumm, Lucas Bowen, Kyle Burger, Paul Cottrell, and Nate Heintzelman.  Leah Thompson served as reader.  Attendants were Ashley Carey, Paige and Payton Kantzer, Samantha Wehe, and Courtney Barker. The reception was held at All Occasions Catering in Waldo, Ohio. The newlyweds traveled to the Dominican Republic for their honeymoon.
The bride is a 2002 graduate of Elgin High School and a 2006 graduate of Ohio Northern University.  Lindsey teaches second grade at Heritage Elementary, Marion, Ohio.  The groom is a 2002 graduate of Parkway High School and a 2006 graduate of Ohio Northern University.  Tyler is the office supervisor for  Embarq offices in Sidney, Bellefontaine, and Marysville, Ohio.  Lindsey and Tyler have made their home in Marysville, Ohio.
 
 
McCans ~ Fox Wed in June
Amanda Christine McCans and Zachary Michael Fox were united in marriage June 14, 2008 at Christ United Methodist Church, Akron, Ohio with the Rev. Ben Black III officiating. The bride is the daughter of James and Margaret McCans of Akron. The groom is the son of Michael and Nicole Fox of Rockford. The maid of honor was Katie McCans, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Sarah Fox, sister of groom, Lizzy Foster, friend of bride, Jocelyn Holingsworth, friend of bride, Laura Change, friend of bride, Julie Reineke, friend of bride and Becca Fox, sister of groom. Emma Smith was the flower girl. The best men were Will Snyder and Adam Wallace, friends of the groom. Groomsmen were Scotty Rumple, friend of groom, Luke Clouse, friend of groom, Brandon Worden, friend of groom and Jordan Gutierrez, friend of groom. Alex Snyder was the ring bearer. Assisting with the wedding were Sarah Byrd, Caitlin Newcomb and Ryann Fox. A reception was held at Firestone Country Club, Akron, Ohio. The couple took a honeymoon trip to the Eastern Caribbean. The bride graduated from The Ohio State University and is teaching seventh grade science at West Cary Middle School, Cary, North Carolina. Rupert/Keirns Announce Engagement and Approaching Wedding
James and Cheryl Rupert of Van Wert, Ohio would like to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Megan Joelle Rupert to Bradley William Keirns, son of Richard and Julia Keirns, also of Van Wert.  The Bride elect is a 2007 graduate of Van Wert High School and has just completed her freshman year at The Ohio State University in Columbus. She will be continuing her education at The University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima.  Her fiancé Brad is a 2006 graduate of Wayne Trace High School and is currently employed by The United States Navy as a Nuclear Engineer.  He is stationed at The Naval Submarine Base in New London, Connecticut.  The wedding ceremony will take place at Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 4:30 pm.

Robert and Brenda Schoenlein, St. Henry, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Nicole Schoenlein, to  Blake Young, son of James and Robin Young, Van Wert.

The bride elect is a 2003 graduate of Coldwater High School and a 2006 graduate of Bowling Green State University with a bachelor of science degree in exercise physiology. She plans to attend the Medical University of Ohio this fall for a master of science degree in biomedical science with a physician assistant concentration.

The prospective  groom is a 2002 graduate of Parkway High School, Rockford and a 2006 graduate of Manchester College with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education.  He is employed as a fifth grade teach and junior high coach at Salamonie School, Warren, IN.  This fall he plans to attend the University of Toledo for a master degree in educational administration and supervision.

Baltzell - Whitaker Say Vows in Florida Ceremony

Christy Baltzell and Scott Whitaker of Rockford were married December 1, 2007 in a private family and friend ceremony on the beach in Pensacola, Florida. A family dinner was held later at Hemingway's in Pensacola.

Zaqnder Whitaker, the couple's toddler son, was the ring bearer and was escorted by his uncles, Nathan Baltzell and Bryon Whitaker.

Following their honeymoon in Pensacola, the couple returned to their home in Rockford. A reception in their honor was held on December 8, 2007.

The grooms parents are Brent and Sharon Whitaker of Willshire. The bride's parents are Ty Baltzell of Celina and Rose and Dennis Butler of Rockford.
 
 
 
Shaffer - Scheidt Wed in September
Abby Shaffer and Andy Scheidt spoke their wedding vows on September 22, 2007 at Immaculate conception Church in Celina.  She is the daughter of Mike and Cindy Shaffer of Celina, and he is the son of Bing and Sherri Scheidt of Rockford. The couple had a reception at the Celina American Legion and later honeymooned at Lake Tahoe, Nevada. They reside in Coldwater.
 
 
 

Balliet, Smith Say Vows in July

Bethany Jean Smith, daughter of Dana and Vicki Smith, and Shaun Michael Balliet, son of Jr. Balliet and Lori Balliet, were united in marriage on Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Praise Point Church in Willshire. Officiating the wedding was Pastor Jeff Millay and Pastor Mark Rutledge assisting.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Duane Smith, Uncle of the bride, and Bonnie Smith, sister of the bride.

The bride wore a white halter-top gown that had detailed beading and a sweeping bustled effect to the side.  She also wore a princess style headpiece with a fingertip white veil. Her bouquet consisted of vibrant sherbet pink colored roses with white lilies on her mother’s bible that she carried 28 years ago at her wedding.

The bridesmaids wore tea length pistachio colored dresses of their choice. The maid of honor was Bonnie Smith of Willshire, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Joey Jutte of Celina, friend of the bride; Liz Hartwig of New Bremen, friend of the bride; Elizabeth Smith, Megan Smith, Katlyn Smith and Trisha Bentz of Rockford, cousins of the bride. The junior bridesmaid was Jenna Balliet of Convoy, sister of the groom. The flower girl was Jamie Balliet of Convey, sister of the groom. The miniature bride was Emma Smith of Willshire, niece of the bride.

The groom wore a black tuxedo with a white vest. Each groomsmen wore black a tuxedo with  pistachio colored vest.

The best men were Kyle Balliet of Convoy, brother of the groom and Dan Shively of Ada, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Alan Vining of Dayton; Kirk Lichtensteiger of Ft. Wayne; Nate Powelson of Convoy; Ryan NcCarty of Cincinnati; friends of the groom. Evan Kiehl of Bowling Green, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Zach Fox of Morrisville, NC and Stephen Bentz of Rockford, cousins of the bride. The ring bearer was Alex Petersburg of Williamston, MI, cousin of the groom. Miniature groom was Trace Leliaert of Cincinnati, cousin of the groom.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at Rockford Community Building.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Parkway High School and a 2007 graduate of Wright State University. She is currently employed at Parkway Local School as a pre-school teacher and volleyball coach.

The groom is a 2002 graduate of Crestview High School and a 2006 graduate of Miami University with a degree in Marketing. Shaun is currently a commercial lines underwriter at Central Insurance Company, in Van Wert.    Following the wedding the couple took a honeymoon cruise to the Western Caribbean. The couple currently resides in Van Wert.

 
 
 
 Lautzenheiser/ Farmer Announce Approaching Wedding

Yvonne Lautzenheiser, Fairfield (Cincinnati area), and Rod Farmer, Rockford, wish to announce their upcoming marriage on Sunday, October 7, 2007, at the St. Marks United Methodist Church in Fairfield, Ohio.  Musical selections will begin at 2:00 p.m., with the ceremony beginning at 2:30 p.m.  A reception will follow the wedding in the church fellowship hall. 

The bride is a graduate of the class of 1964 at Parkway High School and has been involved in music, especially as the organist at the St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Fairfield, for the last 19 years.  The groom is a graduate of the class of 1960 of the former Rockford High School and has been involved in farming in the Rockford area all his life.

A reception will also be given by family of the couple,  at the Praise Point Church, in Willshire, Ohio on Oct. 14, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.   Friends of the couple are warmly invited to come to wish them well in their new life together.  Your presence is a cherished gift.  No other is desired.

Paul and Jayne Evans, Fort Recovery, announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Kristin Evans, to Curtis Hamrick, son of Gary and Deb Hamrick, Willshire.

Julie Fullenkamp and Barry Peel III, along with their parents, are pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Gary and Diane Fullenkamp of Rockford. She is a 2003 graduate of Parkway High School and a 2006 graduate of Wright State University-Lake Campus. The prospective groom is the son of Barry Jr. and Janice Peel of Rockford. He is a 2004 graduate of Parkway High School and is currently attending Wright State University-Lake Campus majoring in middle childhood math and science. Barry is employed at Peel's Pit Stop in Celina.
