Local Rockford Girl Scouts Donate Baby Baskets
to Hospital
Troops
20504,20585, 20543 and 20434 celebrated Girl Scout week by donating two
baskets full of baby and mommy items to Van Wert County Hospital. They
also did a basket for Mercer Health within Service Unit 230(Mercer
County Girl Scouts). There were many things the girls brought in from
rattles to clothing, and candles to picture frames for new moms. They
also made sure the families had a couple boxes of the very yummy Girl
Scout cookies to enjoy during their stay.
Presenting
the baskets to Sophia Schnepp and her beautiful baby girl, Anna Rose,
(top photo) and Angelique Pease and her beautiful baby boy, Bryson,
(bottom photo) are Harley Noll and Kodi Colter of Troop 20504. The
Scouts thank Van Wert County Hospital and the new moms for
allowing them come in and present these baskets.

Libraries are Free in USA - Not So Around the World
Libraries provide free use of materials in the United States. All one
needs is a free library card. Many countries around the world do not
provide access to libraries without a rank of privilege or a hefty
membership fee. Ask any foreign exchange student what they think about
visiting United States libraries. A couple of the exchange students said
they could not believe that citizens here have free Internet usage, free
videos and free books for check-out. In their home cities, they pay a
fee to belong and be allowed-in to look. They cannot check the materials
out, but rather have to look at them in the library.
Locally, we are fortunate to have libraries in all three villages.
Rockford Carnegie, Mendon Branch of the Mercer County Library and
Willshire's branch of the Brumback Library.
The Willshire Branch Library recently completed renovations on their new
space. The village was the recipient of a grant to renovate the old
village hall for that purpose. Located at 323 State Street, the new
library space's director can be reached at 419-495-4138 to learn of
their hours. |
